MY STORY

I am American-Irish, residing in the U.K. since 1998. I grew up in Los Angeles and studied art, design and photography at California Institute of the Arts where I had access to all the arts; film, theatre, music, writing, painting, sculpture, conceptual art and experimental animation. After CalArts I moved to New York City and began working as a creative director in print and television advertising. In 1996 I was offered a job in Paris as a creative director at an international agency. In 1998, I left Paris and came to London to do an MA in Documentary Film at Goldsmiths University. For over twenty years I have written and produced feature documentary films for cinema and TV documentaries for broadcast and streaming. I moved out of London in 2004 to live on a farm in the Dedham Vale, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) near Manningtree in Essex.

Through all of this, I never stopped taking pictures. Photography was a way to keep in touch with my own vision. And as technology evolved so did my way of playing with what I photographed. As a child I grew up drawing and painting things that were inside my head, not in front of my eyes. With photography, I can take pictures of things in front of my eyes and turn them into something that's inside my head.
